BRINGING BACK THE BUSH

Among the many great activities initiated by volunteers across the Pyrmont community, Pyrmont Ultimo Landcare brings people of all ages together to create pockets of bushland on hitherto weed-and rubbish-ridden pockets of public land.

Check out our sites:

> Wentworth Park Light Rail station

> Jones Street Pocket Park (still closed off by the City as work on cliff stabilisation proceeds)

> Pirrama Road Bus Stop (near Harris Street)

> Quarry Master Drive and Saunders Street

> Carmichael Park

> Bank Street (under the pedestrian/cycleway to the Anzac Bridge)

We are assisted by staff from Atlassian, Google and other civic-minded companies who enjoy their time with our volunteers and we are often joined by children from the nearby childcare centre who take great pride in the natives they help to plant.

This photo was taken on a cold morning on 21 June where we spread 3 cubic metres of mulch at the Bank Street site in 30 minutes!

More volunteers are always welcome and it’s a wonderful way to meet your neighbours and to keep fit and active – and it’s so rewarding to see the new bushland flourishing.
